My maternal grandfather, Edward Thomas Stennett, born 1860, was a photographer & carpenter, and lived at Crany (Wyoming County) for much of his life. He traveled over much of Wyoming County from about 1885 through 1930, taking pictures of people, events, and the lumbering industry. He used a "Putnam" camera with tripod, which used glass slides as seed plates which were slipped into the back of the camera. He was a successful photographer and was able to support his family at the turn of the century through this type of work. I was given the opportunity of scanning many of the glass plates, which were in poor condition, but good enough to produce legible photos. The photos are of unknown persons, and the reason I'm publishing them is to give everyone who subscribes to the Wyoming County list an opportunity to view them, with the thought that somewhere, you may have at one time seen one of these photos, perhaps in your friend's, parent's, or grandparent's homes and could help in identifying some of them. The photos in all probability were taken within a radius of 30 miles of Crany. I am including the web address where these photos may be viewed. If anyone can identify any of them, please contact me.
