Just found n the Rev. Goode Ledger re: Settler Cooke land grants. (2) The second tract was for 93 acres where Jesse, W. Va. is now located. This tract was given by the Settler to his younger son, James who married Docia Meadows and settled here about 1808. Four of his sons settled in this neighborhood. (1) Josiah who married Jane Canterbury; (2) Lewis who married Nancy Canterbury; (3) William Agra Cook who married Malinda Cook; (4) MAJ. Green M. Cook who married Margaret Cooke and inherited his fathers home place.
