The Eastern Cherokee v. The United States These three court cases involved grievances arising out of various treaties between the Cherokee Indians and the United States Government. In 1905 the Court ruled in favor of the Eastern Cherokees and in 1906 Congress appropriated more than one million dollars for settlement.
