Hi Kathy, I am also descended from Shorten and Lavinia Smith. Their daughter Mary Polly married Eli Blankenship. I have also heard about Lavinia being part indian, but that is all. Do you have any more info on Lavinia, where she was from? All that I can find from anyone, is that she was from the Carolina areas.
