The fund was to be distributed to all Eastern and Western Cherokee Indians living on 28th May 1906 or their descendants who could prove eligibility. The Applications are number 1 thru 45,857 representing a total of aboujt 90,000 individuals. The total persons enrolled were 30,820 of which 27,384 were in Indian Territory or West of the Mississippi River and 3,436 were in the Eastern Nation...the remaining approximately 2/3 were for various reasons rejected. The applications contain a wealth of genealogy information. -----Original Message----- From: Larry Daniels <uatwf@bright.net> To: WVWYOMIN-L@rootsweb.com <WVWYOMIN-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, November 24, 1999 11:09 PM Subject: Re: [WVWYOMIN] Cooke Family >Kathy, >I am descended from Francis Mitchem and Christina Milam.
