To Lee Hash and others interested: Harrison Straley, II, tells the story of Jesse James in his "Memoirs of Old Princeton". I have a copy which the Mercer Co. Historial Society reprinted in 1975. The original manuscript was likely written during or shortly after the Civil War. I will look for the passage in writings regarding Jesse James if you'd like me to. This writing has very good information on the early settlers of Mercer Co. (Giles/Tazewell areas). It does not have an index.
