Good Morning all, Spent a couple hours at the Montgomery County Court House at Christiansburg yeaterday. I had returned my grand daughter to college at WIse and stopped on the way back to Culpeper. I copied the plats of John Cook (no "e") and Thomas Huff. The Huff plat is on the Guyandotte River. He entered 920 acres (No. 1408) on March 13, 1782. He also had survey for 520 acres on June 14, 1782. Also copied a plat for a John Cook of 230 acres surveyed September 19, 1782 on the waters of Walker Creek. Don't know where this is, but.... When leaving, one of the kind ladies asked if I had seen the early marriage bonds and escorted me to a small area where these records are kept. I didn't copy any but found the marriage bonds for William Lester and Rachel Skaggs 3/22/1876. and Abraham Workman and Margaret Lester on 9/24/1785 and David McComas and Cloe Bailey on 1/11/1787. These bonds were VERY interesting as more than just the dates are there. SORRY I didn't copy them. The next time through will spend more time. Lee Hash
