I just came on tonight to check my email and guess there has been some misunderstanding on my Dillon name. I know there are a lot of them in the Appalachian area as when I was home for my last visit I was ask many times if I was related to this one or that. The answer was always "I doubt it" My husband is a full blooded Irishman with an Irish sence or humor. He always said his family was horse thiefs....I thought he was joking. Then I started to search his Dillon family. He came from a long line of Dukes and Earls but times got bad in Ireland and the family was kicked out of the country for stealing horses. They crossed and enered Canada....traveled across Canada to about the point where Michigan is today and entered the US by way of the "back door". The Dillons come from Kalamazoo, Michigan but one branch ended up in the Boston area when John Dillon traveled to Boston to meet a family member comming over. While in Boston he feel in love with a Doolan and she told him if ya love me you won't take me so far from my family so they settled in south Boston.
