Hello Everyone, I have a suggestion for you all. I can volunteer my time and expertise with creating newsletters if some folks want to try to keep a Wyoming County newsletter alive. I can get information that I can find online and what sources I have access to (state archives, WV collection). If folks want to send me items of interest concerning Wyoming County families, we could possibly get out a newsletter every month or so. I doubt it'd be as good as what Sally has done over the years, but at least it would keep a form of the newsletter from dying. Of course, the newletter would be available online, perhaps we could compile an email list. Unless Sally would gives us the "okay", I think she should perhaps use a different name since i don't know how anything will turn out, it really would be dependent on information contributions by readers. Just an idea, what do you all think of it? I just don't want the newsletter to die out. It really is a good resource, and we all know that once things die, it is hard to revive them. Since I used to create a bi-weekly newsletter for Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, I have experience in doing creating newsletters. Just trying to offer what skills I can. If at some point in the future, someone wants to take over the endeavor, I'd be fine with it. By doing it electronic, we could keep costs down, (I'd do it for free), but we would need cooperation from all you good folks out there to get information on families, items to add, perhaps an obituary collection section (both recent and old obits), important events in Wyoming County genealogy, notable Wyoming Countians, perhaps an old newspaper article or two per issue, old photos, perhaps a story or two (like what Stan has been writing on here lately). All are just ideas, but if we can keep the concept of the Wyoming newsletter alive, it would be worth it. Be honest, if you like the idea and would like to contribute, please let me know. If you think this is a lousy idea, let me know. Really, it is just an idea. If we would decide to go forward with this, we'd need email addresses, and if people would want hard-copies mailed, they'd have to pay for that (I'd estimate about 75 cents an issue). I'd say an issue every month or perhaps every two months would be best. I would appreciate everyone's feedback, if you all think it is a lousy idea, that is alright too.
