That Coon branch that you are talking about in Wyoming near Oceana is Where i am researching now, my gggrandfather Edley Whitt was shot there during the Civil War, he and I think a Gunoe man was taken to a hill and both shot at a tree there, Edley whitt crawl to the river where they found him and he lived for 20 days. I still need to do more researching on this . Would like to go to the area and see if I might could find this area. Michelle: My sources say that Edley Whitt died at the county jail of gunshot wounds. They doubt he was with Andy Gunnoe when he was shot. Will continue to look into it.
