    2. n transcribing the Ledger of Rev. G.P. Goode, as many of you suggested, I will use footnotes as I did transcribing the records of the Rockcastle Baptist Church. There I also had a brief biography section at the end which included available pictures at the time. However, as also suggested, I will use endnotes,as many of his writings can be updated etc: I would like to add as many early pictures of the area and of early pioneers as can be found. So if anyone has such, please let me know. They can be easily electronic transfered into the final document.. This is important as it may be the last opprotunity to share these important photoes. Thanks Lee Hash

    2. Sally, you wrote earlier today suggesting that written records should be placed in print for future researchers of history. Doing some thinking, you are absolutely correct. Data placed on line is super and gives one a delightful means of correspondance. Not enough is done, and when the computer is turned off, and the screen goes blank, it is like the winds, lost in time and gone forever. But somewhere, in someones data base, that delightful message is in storage. How long I dont know and how it could be retrieved for others to share, I don't know that either. But let's keep typing away and meet many new and excitimg people some of whome may be our relation. Thanks for your concern. Lee .

    2. This is for Ray Hunt who is doing the Hunt and Green Families. My 2nd ggrandfather was JOSHUA GREEN and I have part of a copy of The Independent Herald in which G.P. Goode has written about the first GREEN family reunion in 1936. It tells about Joshua green and his children and some other family members. I also have a paper for STEPHEN GREEN , sent to me by a cousin. This is an unconfirmed report that STEPHEN was JOSHUA GREEN'S father. He got this information from World Family Tree.If you would like a copy of these, please email me privately with your address. Mary Fisher amgreen538@aol.com

    3. Does anyone know of records other than the 1850 VA census for Nathan and Elizabeth Sargent Young who moved to Wyoming from Harlan Co. KY. They had Abraham b 1828, Hiram b 1829, Nancy b ? and Robert Letcher b 1848. Nathan killed a man and had to leave the country, leaving Elizabeth and the kids to fend for themselves. They settled in Clay Co. where Elizabeth married Joseph Butler in 1856 Nicholas Co. The circumstances are recorded in Marriage Book B 1856 and they were accepted in order to clear the way for remarriage. She is buried in Chapman Cemetery with Hiram and his three wives. I do not know where Joseph is buried. Any Young info greatly appreciated.

I am sure that if you do a search on the 'net, under copyright, maybe, you might find something about this. 3. Lee, Last night I finished Volume 13 Issue #3 of Families of Wyoming Co., WV and today I begin the index. So it will be in the mail within a few days. Then I do one issue on Yancey Co., NC before starting FOWC Issue #4. In #4 I'll use a few items from this rootsweb. There are some really interesting items here that would definitely be of interest to those who do not have a computer. I'd hate to see the info lost when it can be shared. Sally Seaman-Williams

    2. Sally, that's great. We'll have copies of Yancy and Wyoming County family history to be read by the fireside for the next month. I use a 3 hole punch and have bound mine. Makes an orginized bookshelf. As you told me privately there will be some Civil War stuff in the FOYC pub. Have just finished Rev. Good's writings on the Allen family. Seems they came up from Hillsville, Va. John Allen Sr. settled long before the Civil War, having migrated because of problems". I find that two of his sons were killed in the war. John Allen Jr. "Crap Allen" married a Laferty. That is an intersting family. Seems the Stewarts were tied in with them before the Amer. Rev. War. Thanks again. Lee
