I'm sorry I don't know your name,but can you please tell me if, where and how the "History of Wood County W VA 1980" with its section on the "Sheppard Family" is available or at least the author's and/or publisher's name(s)? I am trying to track the apparently little-known Peter Sheppard, born in Scotland (or possibly the West Indies) who came to Wood County sometime in the decades around 1800. Peter was almost certainly the father of James William Sheppeard, 1822-1903--another medical doctor, and my G G Grandfather. Peter Sheppard lived in the Palestine area. Any scrap of further information will be very much appreciated.
