VA.                 b. 1832 Ohio d. 08/16/1921 Wood County, WVa.         d. 7/18/1896 64 yrs Waverly, Wood      88 yrs. 8 mos.                                     Co. W Va.   buried Pleasant Grove Cem.   William H. WINGROVE enlisted in the Civil War at Powhattan Pt. Ohio, Belmont County, Sept. 6, 1861 for a period of three years but was discharged on the 16th day of April, 1862 at Shiloh, Tenn. "Said William H. WINGROVE has had rheumatism in the leg and hip during the last four months and was subject to the same ailing previous to enlistment." ---Amos Glover, Capt. He was in Co. F, 15th Regiment , Ohio Foot Volunteers. Pension #653188. He was a Private. In his application of Pension he says he is 6 feet, 2 inches, dark complexion. gray eyes, and dark hair, and gives his occupation as a farmer. He was blind the last seven years of his life. He said in his pension he lived in Captina, Ohio from 1864 to 1870 and lived in Waverley, Wood Co., W Va , from 1870 on. He enlisted a second time at Bellaire, Belmont Co., Ohio as a private in Co. C., 170th Regiment, Ohio National Guard Volunteers, and served from 5/2/1864 to 9/10/1864.                                                           Linda Mitchell

    3. Linda, does your book show a Windgrove/Wingrove that married Edith Johnson (born about 1871)? Edith was the daughter of James A. Johnson and Ruth Furman. They also lived in or near Waverly.
