Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DFC.2ACI/2440 Message Board Post: Notes I have state that Frances Tarpley Wilson (married to) Israel Thompson died January 7, 1892 in Parkersburg W.Va. however she was buried in Loudoun Co. Virginia. Now I don't know how true this information is but wondering if anyone has access to census records for 1890. Her husband Israel Thompson died in 1882 and is buried in the same cemetery in Loudoun Co. Va. So my thinking is after he died she went there to be with a child but was returned to be buried with her husband. Her children were Leonidas Thompson; Phillip Doddridge Thompson; and Benjamin Thompson. Phillip m. Lucy Carter Dame I doubt that she was there for a sibling. She was 93 and everyone else was dead. Would appreciate anything anyone can find out. I'm wondering why she was there. Thanks. Janean

    1. 1890 census information
    2. Most of the 1890 census records were lost in a fire. Description These records have been extracted from the remaining population schedules for the 1890 Federal Census, which was destroyed by a fire at the Commerce Department in Washington, DC on 10 January 1921. The surviving fragments consists of 1,233 pages or pieces, including enumerations for Alabama, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota, and Texas. The records of only 6,160 of the 62,979,766 people enumerated survived the fire. The original 1890 census enumerated people differently than ever before that time. Each family was enumerated on a separate sheet of paper. 1890 was the only year this was done.
