Jaynes. Mary, born 1859, and Margaret and Minna, born in 1868, all in VA/WVA. I just found this posting/family, and am wondering if Mary could be my grandmother. My father was orphaned at birth in 1882 in Galveston, TX area, and he always said his mother was Mary Jaynes of VA, and his father John Jones. His mother died at his birth, and his father when he was 5,and he had no other relatives he knew of besides 2 "old maid sisters" in Galveston, who disappeared in the terrible Galveston storm of 1900. I thought they could be Margaret and Minna. For 35 years I have been unable to trace my father, because I haven't been able to find a John Jones/Mary Jaynes marriage, or find them anywhere. I realize the name Mary is pathetically common, and the Jaynes family were fairly common in VA, but am hoping someone can help me with what happened to any of these 3 daughters, so I can learn quickly there is no hope of this being my Mary, or so I can learn that possibly she is my grandmother. ! Thanks for any help. Judy
