    3. This cemetery has a new road into it and is very accessible if you know where it is. It is off of Missouri Creek Road. ----- Original Message ----- From: C. In December of 1998, someone visited the Sams Cemetery in Wood County, WV. "The county road, which runs by he cemetery has not been kept up and is now overgrown, washed out and several fallen trees blocks the path. The easiest access is through a neighboring farm by foot and one has to get permission to trespass on private property to get to it. The cemetery is small but is mowed and trimmed several times a year by a teenage boy. According to Catherine J. Sams this area is called Missouri Creek. According to the book, Wood County West Virginia Cemetery Inscriptions, Vol.1. pg. 135 of this book states that the Sams Cemetery on Missouri Creek is to be morved in 1966 to make way for Route 77. Practically all graves were moved to Big Tygart Cemetery with 3 moved to Mt. Olivet. Hope this helps! Sams is a common surname in this area. Perhaps it is a small family plot?
