There are several other Devol's buried next to them Mary isn't buried there. I guess I should say she doesn't have a stone if she's buried there. She's most likely buried at the Cook Cemetery since that's the only other place found with any Stebbins buried. IOOF CEMETERY - Now called Parkersburg Memorial Gardens, Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, WV - behind Parkersburg High School. T Cook Devol 1858-1940 Emma B Devol 1859-1937 COOK/RIVERVIEW CEMETERY - 13 1/2 Street, Parkersburg, WV - located very near to the above cemetery. I do know from census and other sources, that she lived for many years (1920-?) with her daughter and son-in-law, Emma (Stebbins) Devol and Tillinghast A. Cook Devol. I believe she died bet. 1937-1940, Emma died in 1937 and T.A. Cook Devol died in 1940. As far as I know, there was no other family in the area at the time of her death..other sons had moved to MI by that time. I have written to the Court House and other record keepers, but have found out that death records were not required at the time. I even had a researcher look for me, to no avail. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it...even ideas for someplace else for me to check would be great! Thanks

    1. [WVWOOD] Staggs family
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DFC.2ACI/2213 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on any of the Staggs family that were buried in the Old Staggs cemetery in Wood County The Stagg family, who first opened the graveyard, occupy the central part. At an old broken down slab south of an oak tree, is the grave of Susan, daughter of J. R. Stagg, died April 27th, 1855, aged thirty-six years. Edmond D., son of J. R. Stagg, died June 30th, 1841, aged four years, one months. (May 29th, 1837). Lodena, daughter of J. W. and S. Stagg, died April 23rd, 1853, aged fifteen years, two months. (February 22nd, 1838.) William M., son J. W. and S. Stagg, May 21st, 1853, a child aged ten months and eleven days. These are in the second row from the east end. Next is a vigorous catalpa tree standing at the head of the unmarked grave of some grown person. By the side of this is a more recent mound, and two children's graves at their head, all in good repair. There are two old time graves in the southeast corner, near a large hickory tree. John W. Stagg married Susan Mann, 1837. Elizabeth Stagg married William R. Prince, 1837. Other inscriptions are: William, son of W. M. and Elizabeth Stagg, in his fifth year. (Date not copied). Elizabeth Stagg, died 1854, aged twenty-seven. Isaiah, son of William and C. Stagg, died 1851. (Perhaps meant for son of William and Catharine.) Elizabeth Stagg, wife of William B. Prince, died 1855, aged thirty-seven years, six months. These are all old graves and covered over with wild grape vines and with blue myrtle, and a cluster of yucca has been set nearby. There are two new headstones at graves, under a pine tree, two rows west of the gate. I think it is possible this William (Catherine Staggs) was a brother to George Staggs who married Jemima Furr and came to Greenup county Kentucky. Anyone who can identify these Staggs or has information on them or the families they inter-married with -I would love to hear from you and exchange notes.
