Does anyone have access to Wes Cochran's book of Wood Co. marriages who would be willing to do a lookup for me? I'm trying to track down my grandmother's cousins. Her mother, Hattie SIMMS CONLEY, had three sisters who had married by 1900, but I don't know the names of their spouses. Her sisters were Alberta SIMMS, born 1867, Marian (Minnie) SIMMS, born 1869, and Addie SIMMS, born 1874. I would appreciate any help. Linda

Ann in NC Hello: I am very eager for anything on the parentage, siblings, ancestry of Dr. JAMES WILLIAM SHEPPEARD, b. Wood County 1822, or his early life there and/or in Marietta, OH and Wirt County, VA.; and ditto for RUTH LUCINDA PHELPS who married Dr. Sheppeard at Parkersburg Nov 22 1843. They were my G G grandparents. The doctor became a significant pioneer figure in two Kansas counties; I know about their later life and children, but absolutely nothing of their background in WV, then VA, and earlier. As I also don't know when the unusual SHEPPEARD spelling began, I'd be glad to hear of or from any SHEPARDs, SHEPPERDs etc. OF ANY SPELLING whose ancestry dates to early 19-c Wood County. I note SHEPPARD names at the Mineral Wells cemetery. Does anyone know Mineral Wells well? Also would appreciate info about Dr. W.A.M. Hello I am a descendant of Joseph Cook and Elizabeth Barker thru their daughter Elizabeth Cook. She married Timothy Darling in Wood Co.,WV in Jan 1 1803. Direct Descendants of Joseph Cook 1 Joseph Cook 1751 - 1824 .. +Elizabeth Barker 1755 - 1816 ........ 2 Elizabeth Cook 1782 - 1839 ............ +Timothy Darling 1779 - 1830 Is there anything written up on the Darlings who appear in the census records for Wood Co.,WV.? Timothy shows up in 1810. I know he takes the family to Jackson Co.,Ohio in 1815 where they stay. Does it say where he's from? in 1820 and 1830 there are a Thomas Darling and a Robert Darling. Maybe Robert Darling is son of Thomas? Does anyone know anything about these Darling families? Thanks Cindy
