I haven't been getting very much mail for the list lately. Is rootsweb really quiet or is AOL's spam filter eating my mail? Carol

I see Barbara Rowley (age 18) with Stephen King's family in the 1850 Census, Wood County, stating she was born in Ohio. I believe she is the sister of my gggrandfather, Joseph L Rowley, son of Isaac Rowley and Rachel Lemley. Do you know what her connection with the King family would be? The Rowley's moved to Wood County after Isaac died in 1845 in Ohio because Rachel had family there. This Rowley family goes back to early 1600's from Henry Rowley of Plymouth, MA.
Taking the limited amount of information given in your query, I surmised that both Fannie and Dean were b. abt 1870, married about 1890 and had son Carl named in your query in 1893. Here's a quick timeline with what I found - Valerie 1880 - Fannie & Dean should both be about 9 years old. Ancestry has this census indexed but I don't find a Dean Bailey of the correct age. I believe that this is Fannie living with her family in 1880. 1880 - LUBEC, WOOD COUNTY, WV CENSUS WALKER, MOSE (? - difficult to read), age 47, laborer WALKER, EMMALINE, wife, age 49, keeping house WALKER, TOMMY, son, age 26, laborer WALKER, MARY S., daughter, age 28 WALKER, CHAS, son, age 21 WALKER, ANDREW, son, age 17 WALKER, NETTIE, daughter, age 12 WALKER, MINERVA (? - difficult to read), daughter, age 11 WALKER, FANNIE, daughter, age 9 SPENCER, ELIJAH, father in law, age 82 1890 - Fannie & Dean should be abt. 19 years old, unknown whether they are married or still living at home. I could not search for them in the 1890 Census as the 1890 Census was destroyed in a fire. 1900 - Fannie & Dean should be abt. 29 years old. Their son Carl, b. in 1893 would be about 7 years old. I couldn't search for them in the 1900 Census as Ancestry doesn't have this census indexed and there are dozens of districts within Wood County that would have to be manually searched. 1910 - Fannie & Dean should be abt. 39 years old. Their son Carl, b. in 1893, would be about 17 years old. Again, Ancestry doesn't have this Census indexed yet either. 1920 - Fannie & Dean should be abt. 49 years old. Their son Carl should be abt. 27. I found Dean & Fannie and their family as such in 1920. As you can see, Carl is not living with them - was probably married and on his own. Interesting in that the oldest son listed in this census is 17 - 10 years younger than Carl. I'm guessing that there were other children born in this 10 year gap who are probably out on their own also. 1920 - TRIMBLE, ATHENS COUNTY, OHIO CENSUS BAILEY, DEAN, head of household, age 48, b. WV, engineer - coal mine BAILEY, FANNY, wife, age 48, b. WV BAILEY, HUBERT, son, age 17, b. OH, coal miner BAILEY, GLADYS, daughter, age 14, b. OH BAILEY, EVELINE, daughter, age 11, b. OH BAILEY, FRANCIS, daughter, age 5, b. OH BAILEY, ELIZA, mother, widow, age 74, b. WV 1930 - Fannie & Dean should be abt. 59 years old. I found them and their family as such in 1930. Their son Hubert is now married and he is found in this census also. 1930 - GLOUSTER, ATHENS COUNTY, OHIO Census BAILEY, DEAN, head of household, age 58, engineer - coal mine BAILEY, FANNIE, wife, age 58 BAILEY, EVELYN, daughter, age 21, salesman - grocery store BAILEY, FRANCIS, daughter, age 16, mail carrier - Uncle Sam 1930 - GLOUSTER, ATHENS COUNTY, OHIO Census BAILEY, HUBERT, head of household, age 27, married at age 21, foreman - coal mine BAILEY, ANN, wife, age 27 BAILEY, JIM, son, age 3 and 11/12 months BAILEY, JUNE, daughter, age 9 months. > > Looking for Fannie Walker married Dean Sylvester Bailey, not much info except had a son Carl Sylvester Bailey born in Burning Springs WV March 1893 and later lived in Glouster OH. These were my Greatgrandparents. >
