    3. During the 1970s I corresponded with Idell Snodgrass (Mrs. Herbert) who lived on 22nd Street in Parkersburg, WV. Both of us were researching the following persons: 1. Charles Snodgrass who died in 1808 in Monongalia Co., WV. 2. Barbara Foulk was the second wife of Charles Snodgrass. She moved from Monongalia Co., WV to Lawrence Twp., Washington Co., OH in about 1812. In 1824 she married Nathan Matheny. 3. Nathan Matheny (b. ca 1783 in Monongalia Co., WV) died in Athens Co. or Washington Co., OH before the mid 1850s. I believe that Idell Snodgrass has died - probably in the 1980s. Does anyone know if she ever published her research? If not, does anyone know if she or her children donated her files/research to an area library, historical society, or museum? Thank you. Millie

The mystery puzzled me, also. I believe I even asked the associate in the Mt. Olivet office to look under several alternate spellings of Mr. LeMaster's name, with no luck. I also believe I searced for a death record in the Wood County Courthouse, with no success. And, I found no record of his name at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Fenton Clark LeMaster was born in 1874 in West Virginia to Valentine LeMaster and Susanna M. Rice. He died on March 4, 1914 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. He died about 3 weeks after a horrible elevator accident that took place on February 9, 1914 at his place of employment which was called Shattuck & Jackson Wholesale House. He was married to Louis Estelle Debolt on May 8, 1898 in Wetzel County, West Virginia. Louis moved almost immediately after his death to Akron, Summit County, Ohio. I have 4 separate newspaper articles relating to his accident and death from the Parkersburg Sentinel newspaper. The LeMaster's are originally from Wetzel County and Fenton Clark LeMaster's youngest child, Cody Lee LeMaster was born in 1909 in Pasco, Roane County, West Virginia. According to one newspaper article Fenton and Louis were had just came to Wood County and was staying with Louis Debolt's parents, John T. Debolt and Ida Issadore (Boughner) Debolt. The article also states that Fenton's parents were living in Pasco, Roane County. The article goes on to say, "Mr. LeMaster had been in the employ of the Shattuck & Jackson Wholesale Grocery, Co. for about 8 months previous to the accident, employed as a packer. He came here from Pasco, and intended moving his family here at an early date". The minister who performed the services was W.D. VanVoorhis and then it lastly states he was buried in Mt.
