William Thomas Swain was born 1853 in Ohio and , died in 1929 in Wood County. He was married to Hester J Forshey who was born 1853 and died in Wirt county 1921. Does any one know anything about his parents? His father was James Swain born in Maryland about 1808 and his mother was Ellen ( probably ) Autis born also in Maryland. They were living in Noble county Ohio in 1870 and also had a daughter Rachel who was born in Ohio 1857. Thank you for any info on Williams parents! Ray Harlow Elida, Ohio
The best I could do at the moment. From Wikipedia: Davisville (also Clairville or Claysville) is an unincorporated community in Wood County, West Virginia, United States. Its elevation is 620 feet (189 m).[1] Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 26142.[2] The North Bend Rail Trail passes through the community.[3] Ron Submarine Vet. > > I grew up in the small town of Davisville WV. And let me add, they are very nice about it. The charge will probably be a couple bucks.

Candee, If no one volunteers to get your obit, write to: Wood County Public Library 3100 Emerson Ave. Parkersburg, WV 26104-2414 They have a good genealogy collection and probably have someone who can look that up for you. There might be a small charge for the copy. Judy Oklahoma City Does anyone have access to the West Virginia Freeman for Wednesday, July 20, 1881? On page 5 is an obit for my ggf, S. E. But I will hesitate to accept the Westmoreland, Va census because on Richard's marriage license he states that he was born in Wood County and subsequent census records give WV as his birth state. Westmorland could still be right, but in view of these other records, I'm still going to need a bit more evidence. Even his death certificate says born in Wood County, but doesn't list his parents. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Dana Lee NEEDHAM which was taken in 1934 at the Fischer Studio in Marietta, OH. Dana appears to be about 3 years old at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Dana and his family: Dana Lee NEEDHAM was b. 27 Nov 1932 in Constitution, OH to parents William Everett NEEDHAM (b. 8 Dec 1901 in Dunham, OH-d. 21 Apr 1974 in Belpre, OH) and Glenna Goldie LACY or LACEY (b. 4 Mar 1903 in Dunham, OH). I've "rescued" a group of 6 photographs belonging to the BOGGESS Family of West Virginia. The first is a photograph of Mildred BOGGESS which was taken at the Wilson Art Shop in Parkersburg, WV. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Mildred about 3 years old at the time. The second photograph is also of Mildred BOGGESS, taken at the same studio, again in the early 1900's with Mildred appearing to be about 5 years old at the time. The third photograph of Ruby BOGGESS, with no studio or location indicated, it was taken later in the 1900's with Ruby likely in her 30's or 40's at the time it was taken. The fourth and fifth photographs are the same, a photograph of Owen, Mildred, Pearl, and Ruby BOGGESS taken at the Chandlee's Cute Studio, no location. Owen appears to be in his 30's or 40's and the three girl range from infant to 3 years, most likely taken in the early 1900's. Owen was one of 6 children born to this couple including, William B.; John M.; Samuel C.; Owen J.; Caleb E.; and Mary A. BOGGESS, all born between 1852 and 1865.
