    3. Wirt County Journal July 28, 1999 Obituaries Grace Buchanan Grace Ardella Buchanan, 85, of Parkersburg, died July 21 at Camden- Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Richwood, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances Holt Warren. She had worked at area restaurants and also in the kitchen at St. Joseph's Hospital. She also had cream stations in the 1960s at Elizabeth. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou Buchanan of Parkersburg; and one brother, Charlie Warren of Prospect, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one son, James Buchanan. Services were held July 24 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Tom Gribble officiating. Burial was in K of P Cemetery, Elizabeth. Regina S. Combs Regina Sue Combs, 48, of Marlinton, W.Va., died July 25 at Marlinton Hospital. She was born Nov. 30, 1950, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha McCoy Lynch of Parkersburg. She is survived by her husband, Richard Combs; three children, Michelle Combs, Tosha Combs and Chantry Combs; four grandchildren, all of Marlinton; three sisters, Blondena Dunn of Cairo, Frances Corbitt of Elizabeth and Evelyn Simmons of Parkersburg; five brothers, Floyd Lynch of Indiana, Bobby Lynch of Parkersburg, Dick Lynch of Georgia, Russell Lynch of Youngstown, Ohio, Melvin Lynch of Lynchburg, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one brother, Chuck Lynch; and two sisters, Gladys Lewis and Mary Virginia Lynch. Services were held July 27 at Cochran Creek Baptist Church. Burial was in Cochran Creek Cemetery. Vanreenem Funeral Home of Marlinton was in charge of arrangements. Pauline B. Dye Pauline B. Dye, 81, of Spencer, died July 23 at Roane General Hospital. Spencer. She is survived by three sons, George Villers of Branson, Minn., Robert Villers of Elizabeth and John Dye II of Left Hand; two daughters, Teresa Conley of Edgewater, Md., and Justa Harper of Spencer; a special niece; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; one grandson; two sisters; and two infant brothers. Services ere held July 26 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial was in Two Runs Baptist Church Cemetery. Ora S. Bise Flint Ora Somerville Bise Flint, 89, of Elizabeth, died July 23 at Ravenswood Care Center following a long illness. She was born August 5, 1909, in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Hoyt and Emma Zetta George Somerville. She had been employed as a telephone operator in Palestine and an assembly line worker at General Motors. She was a member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church and former member of the Lutheran Church where she was a member of the women's society. She was a member of the Palestine Chapter Daughters of America and the Rebekah Lodge in Farmington, Mich. She had been a Michigan resident for 40 years and retired to Wirt County in 1985. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Judy Jeck of Paola, Kansas; three stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Bise, in 1951; her second husband, J. B. "Jesse" Flint, in 1983; five brothers, George Somerville, Pearl Somerville, Earl Somerville, Hershel Somerville and Holly "Grade" Somerville; and one sister, Georgia Somerville Honaker Burrows. Funeral services were July 27 at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with the Rev. David A. Stackpole officiating. Burial followed in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Elizabeth. Russell M. Hupp Russell M. Hupp, 72, of Parkersburg, died July 19 at his residence. He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Curtis and Jessie Moats Hupp. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Remington Rand as a maintenance technician. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 15 and a member of the Eagles Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Juanita Dawson Hupp; one son, Randall Dawson of Parkersburg; two daughters-in-law, Annette Dawson of Elizabeth and Joyce Blankenship of Parkersburg; and one grandchild, Justin Blankenship of Parkersburg. He was preceded in death by one son, Clifford Blankenship; and one sister, Caroll Schmidt. Services were July 22 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Dawson officiating. Graveside rites were by American Legion Post 15. Eugene Richards Eugene T. Richards, 86, of Washington, died July 21 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Elizabeth, a son of the late Stephen and Rosie Williams Richards. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and an instructor of welding at West Virginia University at Parkersburg for 14 years and as a welder for the Keene Corp. He was also a member of the DAV of Parkersburg. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn D. Richards; two sons, Robert G. Richards of Carrsville, Va., and Paul E. Richards of New Martinsville; one daughter, Jeannette I Hudnell and husband Charlie of Washington; two sisters, Beetris Williams of Parkersburg and Francis Hagadorn of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one granddaughter, Kristine Dawn Hudnell of Parkersburg; seven other grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Park Richards, Paul Richards, Clairmont Richards, Steve Richards and Rollie Richards; and two sisters, Treba Richards and Ruth Richards. Services were held July 24 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Larry Piatt officiating. Graveside and memorial rites were performed by American Legion Post 15. Glen E. Thompson Glen E. Thompson, 73, of Parkersburg, died July 18 at his residence. He Was born in Wirt County, a son of the late Audra D. and Demaris Dennis Thompson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from a partnership with McHenry Electric. He was a member of IBEW 968 and American Legion Post 15 and enjoyed working on his farm. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan Wagner Thompson; three sons, Carl Thompson and wife Jerri of Philadelphia, Pa., Gary Thompson and wife Lydia of San Francisco, Calif., and Joel Thompson and wife Angie of Parkersburg; one brother, Ira L. Thompson and wife Ruth Ann of Parkersburg; one sister, Alice Spears of Parkersburg; one sister-in-law, Louella Thompson of Parkersburg; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman H. Thompson. Services were July 23 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Danny McVey officiating. Graveside rites were by American Legion Post 15. Woodrow Williams Woodrow E. "Woody" Williams, 82, died July 19 at Ravenswood Center. He was born in Wirt County and worked as a contractor before retiring. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Opel and Myrtle Williams of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Viola Boso Williams; his wife, Loye Brown Williams; and four brothers, Cecil, Clyde, Harvey and Gerdon Williams. Services were July 22 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was -in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Mineral Wells. June E. Wiseman June E. Wiseman, 78, of Parkersburg, died July 19 at Camden- Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born May 12,192 1, in Wirt County, a son of the late Russell and Alma Caltrider Wiseman. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Indiana during World War II. He worked for the B&O and C&O Railroad for 33 years as a regional signal engineer. He was a volunteer for 10 years at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and was a member of the North End Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Luella V. Johnson Wiseman, whom he married Dec. 23, 1940; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda J. Rea and Gary D. Rea, both of Suwanee, Ga.; three grandsons,. Troy M. Rea and wife Tracy of Augusta, Ga., Todd A. Rea of Sugar Hill, Ga., and Timothy L. Rea of Norcross, Ga.; one sister, Pauline Dotson of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters; and one brother. Services were held July 22 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Eddie Cooper officiating. Burial was in K of P Cemetery, Elizabeth.
