Swisher, 83, 721 South St., a retired garage operator, died at 3:30 p.m. yesterday at Oak Grove Manor Nursing Home, Deshler. He was born May 4, 1884 in Wirt County, W.Va., the son of Dan and Elizabeth (Williams) Swisher. Mr. Swisher moved from West Virginia to rural Findlay in 1918. He married Molly A. Bell April 26, 1903 and she died Sept 27, 1916. He married Nettie Metzler Sept 4, 1926 and she died in Oct. 31, 1949. Surviving are sons, Okey R., Belding, Mich.; Emmet L., 1718 Cherry Lane; Merle, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Ruby) VAN, Warsaw, N.Y.; Mrs (Nettie) FISH, Mansfield; Mrs. John (Ethel) PRICE, New Milford, Conn.; half- brothers, Luther WILLIAMS, Chester, WVa; Thurman WILLIAMS, Chillicothe; half-sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth BROCK, Canton; Mrs. Nellie EBLINE Jr., Pomeroy , O.; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was a 60 year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was also a member of St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Franklin Cody will officiate and burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery. The I.O.O.F. will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home when friends may call after 7 p.m. The body will be taken to the church at noon Sunday. ============================= Republican - Courier Findlay, Ohio May 26, 1945 FUNERALS SWISHER, Jacob S. - Private services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the residence, 241 East Eagle Street. Rev. W. L. Harmony, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate, interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. ====================== The Republican - Courier Findlay, Ohio Saturday Morning, September 22, 1951 Mrs. Mary SWISHER Claimed by Death Rites Monday For Aged Resident Mrs. Mary Catherine Swisher, 91, of 309 East Hobart avenue, died at 12:15 o'clock this morning in the home of a daughter. She had been suffering from a Aug. 23, in which she fractured her right hip. Born, Aug. 2, 1860 in Pleasant County, W.Va. she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John HOUCHIN. She moved to Findlay in 1902. On Jan. 3, 1893 she was married to Jacob S. SWISHER who preceded her in death May 24, 1945. Surviving are several children, E. T. SWISHER, Fullerton, Calif.; John, Fluffton: Mrs. Emma CUMMINS, 309 East Hobart Avenue; W. T., Defiance; Sherman, Toledo; Mrs. Essie SCHWINN, 1312 Fishlocke Avenue; Mrs. Winnie BURROUS, 1104 North Cory Street. There are 11 grand- children and 11 great grandchildren. A son Grover died in May, 1945 and a sister also is dead. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Barnhart Memorial with burial in Maple Grove cemetery. ================================= Any and all help is appreciated here!
