Wirt County Journal June 9, 1999 Obituaries Edith Marie Allman Edith Marie Allman, 69, of Rockport, died May 30 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 24,1929, in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Frank and Fadelia Wright Burton. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Gates Ridge United Methodist Church and the Pond Creek Homemakers Club. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin C. Allman whom she married Sept. 14, 1946; two daughters, Norma Terrell of Cairo and Carol Sue Allman of Little Hocking, Ohio; three sons, Billy Allman, Cecil Allman and David Allman, all of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren; three great-grandsons; three brothers, Charlie Burton of Elizabeth, Richard Burton of Parkersburg and Edward Burton of Mineral Wells; and three sisters, Jessie Harbin and Opal Thomson, both of Parkersburg, and Amy Johnson of Mineral Wells. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde Burton and Glen Burton; one sister, Gail Cline; and one infant sister. Funeral services were held June 2 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Michael Lamb officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens. Nelliemae Brabham Nelliemae Brabham died June 2. She was born Jan. 26,1930, in Elizabeth. She was a member of Lakeview Church of Christ and was a beloved mother, sister, friend and grandmother. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Brabham and Michael Brabham', two daughters, Deborah Herston and Kimberly Brabham; one sister, Evelyn Gray; one brother, John Copen; and seven grandchildren, Jeff Brabham, Ronnie Brabham II, Amy Herston, Audrey Herston, Lindsey Haag, Sean Brabham and Kyle Brabham. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Granville Brabham. Services were held June 5 at Lakeview Church of Christ, Akron, Ohio, with Pastor Darryl Moulder officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Bacher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Freda Polly Roberts Freda Pauline "Polly" Roberts, 50, of Belpre, died June 4 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of James and Nettie Elliott Cross of Parkersburg. She was a 1967 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She had worked at G.C. Murphy's for 20 years and Foodland on Emerson Avenue. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Larry Roberts, one son, Jason Roberts; one daughter, Mary Beth Roberts; one brother, Garland Martin Jr. of Palestine; six sisters, Carolyn Alton, Sharolyn Pinkston, Martha Miller, Sarah Peck and Betty McDonald, all of Parkersburg, and Mary Dailey of Vienna; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Francis Shields Cross, Sebert and Martha Sprouse Elliott. Services were held June 7 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. Harold W. Custer officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens. Edith A. Tallman Edith A. Tallman, 86, of Vienna, died June 2 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Crenest Run, Wirt County, a daughter of the late Kenner A. and Dora D. Cunningham Sims. She was a Baptist by faith. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Camden- Clark Memorial Hospital for 22 years. She is survived by three sons, Gary G. Tallman and Michael D. Tallman, both of Parkersburg, and Paul A. Tallman of Belpre; four daughters, Lois E. Sams of Washington, Donna Y. McDonald of Parkersburg, Annette C. Moats and Anita C. Miller, both of Vienna; one brother, Paul E. Sims of Belpre; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, J.C. Tallman Jr.; one daughter, Christina Marie Fortney; and one sister, Edna Sims. Services were held June 4 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Angel officiating. Entombment was at Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Sunset Memory Gardens.
