J. K. Daniell whose term expires has made a very painstaking and efficient board member. Whether he will stand for reelection and be elected or not he deserves much credit for his untiring efforts in behalf of the betterment of our schools. Don't fail to consider carefully the advantages for advancement offered by the Elizabeth Summer School before making up your mind to go elsewhere the coming term. You will find the advertisement elsewhere in this paper. The unrivaled success of two professors Snodgrass and Walker in preparing their pupils to successfully pass the Teachers' Examination should be a first consideration in choosing a school for this year. Enroll with the Elizabeth Summer School and be assured of a profitable and successful term. Miss Beulah Woodyard has resigned as teacher of the West Point School, and John Tanner is finishing the term. Munday Items Harvey Hays recently returned from the Texas oil fields where he has been employed. Mrs. M. Vandall and son Allen of Creston were visiting relatives in this community last week. Uncle Charlie Rogers, of near Jane Lew, Harrison County, who has spent the winter here, expects to return to his former home this week. Squire Depue was a visitor at Creston the latter part of last week. Rev. A.M. Hammer was called to the mouth of Hughes River to preach a funeral on Wednesday of last week. He made a trip to Parkersburg before, returning home on Thursday. J.0. Mills, who has been in hospital at Parkersburg several days where he underwent an operation for bone consumption, was brought home on Thursday of last week, some improved but still very poorly. Givens of Leroy, operators of a 106-acre farm with a diversified program, are recipients of the top Win County Farming For Better Living award, it was announced at the program's climaxing event, the annual farmer-businessmen's banquet, held in the high school gymnasium here last Friday night.
