An excellent book for you would be, The Dark and Bloody River, by Allan Eckert. Anyone doing Wv. research should have this book. I love it. It has the history of the formation of the movement west, mainly Wv. and Ohio. It is the story of the discovery of the Ohio river. This book tells the story of the settlers and the Native Americans.
