Wirt County Journal August 25, 1999 Remember When ... * From the Wirt County Journal files. March 4, 1921 Farm Bureau Notes The membership fee for the county in the state organization this year was $30. Does it pay for farmers to be organized? Talk about co-operation. W. N. Whited and some of the farmers from Two Run can show you what it means. Five farmers placed their order for seeds with the Farm Bureau. They saved at least $20 on their farm seeds but that was not all. When the seeds arrived one man got the orders for the whole community. Instead of five men with five horses taking five days to go to the store for seeds, one man with one team did it in one day. Yet some folks will tell you that there is nothing in farmers co-operating in a community farm club.
