    3. Wirt County Journal August 25, 1999 Obituaries Buster Craft Buster Craft, 65, of Parkersburg, formerly of Spencer, died August 21 in Parkersburg. She is survived by three sisters, Irene White of Elizabeth, Corrine Newhouse of Frame and Christine Lupardus of Sandyville; and three brothers, Denver Craft of Spencer, Johnny Craft of Williamstown and Edison Craft of Orlando, Fla. Services were August 24 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial was in Billy Hunt Cemetery, Walton. G. Cunningham E. Genevieve "Granny" Cunningham, 73, of Parkersburg, died August 16 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Creston, a daughter of the late Harry and Doris Smith Shrader. She was a homemaker and an Apostolic. She is survived by her husband, Russell Cunningham; three sons, Gary Duane Cunningham and wife Beverly Ann of Elizabeth, Dannie Lloyd Cunningham of Belleville and Willard Blaine Cunningham and wife Sharon of Parkersburg; three sisters, Jeraldine Hall of Parkersburg, Leola Fazenbaker of Morgantown and Mildred Smith of Brooksville; one half sister, Jessy Johnson of Morgantown; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William Roger Cunningham; four brother; two half brothers; two sisters; and five half sisters. Services were held August 18 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Seebaugh officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens, Garden of Christus. Maurice T. Knox Marie T. "John" Knox, 76, of Parkersburg, died August 16 at his residence. He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Frank and Ethel Whitehair Knox. He was retired from Union Carbide after 16 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of North End Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Sees Knox of Parkersburg; one son, John T. Knox and wife Terry of Parkersburg; two daughters, Judy Moore and husband Curtis of Washington and Janet Tolentino and husband Art of Fayetteville, N.C.; two brothers, Robert Knox of Newark and Tom Knox of Parkersburg; one sister, Wilda Bower of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and one sister. Services were held August 18 at Sunset Memory Gardens, Chapel of Peace, with David W. Newberry officiating. D. Thompson Donovan W. Thompson, 66, of Waverly, died August 19 at Autumn Healthcare Center, Beverly. He was born in Burning Springs, a son of the late Clarence W. and Lurlin Richards Thompson. He was a self-employed painter and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Bernice A. Lemaster Thompson. There were no services. Burial at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were handled by Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Bertha Wells Bertha Wells, 88, of Creston, died August 20 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Mattie Villers Arthur. She was a member of the Creston United Methodist Church and was a home- maker. She is survived by one sister, Laura Meadows of Parkersburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Wells; four brothers, Herbert Arthur, John Arthur, Louie Arthur and Ira Arthur; four sisters, Hazel Cain, Ella Buck, Ola Wilson and Ollie Boise. Funeral services were held August 22 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with the Rev. Lewis Villers officiating. Interment was in Cooper Cemetery at Creston.
