Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CFC.2ACI/957 Message Board Post: My husband, a WV boy, purchased some glass-plate negatives of family photos in 1974 at a yard sale in Palestine. He's never going to do anything with them (I'm not sure what he had in mind anyway) and as a genealogist, I'd like to see them get back to the family if possible. There are probably about 30 plates. The women's hairstyles are mostly "bobbed" so I'd say they were taken around the 1920's. Included are portraits of adults and children, a large extended family group, a wedding portrait, a picture of the farmhouse (which might be identifiable) and some camping trip shots. The photos are not professional in quality, so I suspect that a member of the family was the photographer. If you have a parent or grandparent who died in 1974 or went to the nursing home that year, lived in Palestine, and was into photography, these pictures might be yours. I can scan a few of them to e-mail to you for identification. If I can't find a family member who wants them, I would be happy to donate them to a museum or archive in the Palestine area. But it would be nice to identify the people.
