Has anyone heard of Newark Cemetery (or possibly Newark Baptist cemetery) in Wirt Co? Supposedly our ancestors George W. Nutter and Annie Swisher Nutter are buried there but I can find no reference to it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated as my sister-in-law is leaving on a research trip in a week or so and would like to visit this cemetery. Thanks! Donna Heck

Donna, Did you ever get an answer on your Newark Cemetery inquiry. There is a "Fought Cemetery" in Newark, Wirt Co, West Virginia Recent obituaries including ones with services at the Newark Baptist Church (304) 275-8605 Elizabeth, WV show burials there. There is an Oak Hill about a mile south of Newark. The Wirt County web page lists a Oak Hill Cemetery. Perhaps this is the same as the Fought Cemetery.
