Or at least nothing I could put my finger on. I just can’t seem to get anywhere on William……… Seems no other Criss or Crists will claim him. This info fits with the rest of my stuff except the dates are a little different. Sarah age 6 on the 1870 census is a mystery. *As for Jane (I think it’s really “Mary Jane”, not Jane b. 1856). A Mary Jane Criss married H. Leasure in Wirt Co., 1874. As for Anna (I think it’s Roseanne b. OH abt 1858), married Alexander Kidd in Wirt Co, 1878. *As for Anna (I think it’s really Roseanne) Her first marriage was to Alexander KIDD in Wirt Co., on 1-24-1878. They had 4 children, divorced then she married J.W. He was 50 years old at the time and I believe she was 26. I have quite a bit more on William and Samuel too but I’ll skip to John before this becomes a book. JOHN CRISS JOHN2 CRISS (WILLIAM1) was born 1872 in Wood Co. WV. He married LEONA(ONA CHESSIE) NICHOLAS March 30, 1905 in Wirt Co. WV, daughter of JOHN NICHOLAS and LUCY A.. Notes for LEONA(ONA CHESSIE) NICHOLAS: Leona's wedding information says that she was 16 years old at the time she that married John. Census information for 1920, Wirt Co. WV says she was 39 years (this means she was b. 1881 I think this was suppose to be age 31) Children of JOHN CRISS and LEONA(ONA NICHOLAS are: 5. i. EVERETT3 CRISS, b. June 25, 1910, Elizabeth, WV; d. 1991, Los Angeles, CA. (MY FATHER) 6. ii. EDITH CRISS, b. 1913, Wirt Co. WV. Died 1955. Died in an auto accident (I have newspaper clipping) iii. ARTHUR B. CRISS, b. My father told me that he spent a lot of time in Palistine as a young man. He talked about climbing over “those hills” to see girlfriends.
