    3. Wirt County Journal August 28, 2002 Obituaries Dannie R. Miller Dannie R. Miller, 62, of Elizabeth, went home to Jesus, Aug. 21, 2002. Dannie was born in Wirt County, the son of Gladys Patrick Miller of Elizabeth and the late Roy Miller. Dannie was a graduate of Wirt County High School with the class of 1959. He was employed for more than 20 years with Raven's Metal of Elizabeth and attended Beulah Humble Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Shirley Sims Miller; one son, Steve Miller and Darla of Elizabeth; one daughter, Brenda McGraw and her husband, Randy of Mineral Wells; three brothers, Ken Miller and his wife, Lauretta, Luther Miller and his wife, Betty and Darrell Miller and his wife, Beverly, all of Elizabeth; one sister, Jean Seckman and her husband, Dana of Parkersburg; one granddaughter, Heather Bonar of Elizabeth and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Sunday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Delmas Stutler officiating. Burial followed in the Beulah Hill Cemetery. Cecil Reynolds Cecil H. Reynolds, 85, of Elizabeth, formerly of Spencer, died Aug. 23, 2002, at the home of his nephew, Paul Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was born July 24, 1917, in Roane County, a son of the late Orval Curtis and Vena Kerby Reynolds. He was retired from Monarch Rubber and was a farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by one sister, Bessie Hunt of Spencer; two brothers, Cleo Reynolds of Elizabeth and Harold Reynolds of Ohio and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Roy Reynolds and his companion, Eva Rhodes. Services were held Sunday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with the Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial followed in the Eventide Cemetery. David E. Rousher David E. Rousher, 76, of Palestine, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 23, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg following a brief illness. Mr. Rousher was born Aug. 31, 1925, at Homestead, Pa., a son of the late William and Mary Kane Rousher. He was a graduate of Homestead High School and a US Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from USX as a crane operator with more than 33 years of service. In 1981 Mr. Rousher moved to Palestine from Pittsburgh and became an instrumental leader in the formation of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and was a avid sports fan. He will be missed by his wife of 55 years, Joan Iris McGory Rousher, one son, Scott Roucher of Greensburg, Pa.; three daughters, Kathleen Sclichter of Tough Kennaman, Pa., Patricia Eminhizer of Washington, Pa., and Colleen Weaks of Rivesville, W. Va.; one brother, Bernard Rousher of Munhal, Pa., and three grandchildren, Shane Sclichter of Pittsburgh, Kathrine Eminhizer of Washington and Gretchen Eminhizer, a student at Ohio University. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Rousher and William Rousher, and three sister, Mercedes Gentili, Mary Agnes Morris and Gertrude Bires. In accordance with Mr. Rouhser's wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held in Sept. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
