Wirt County Journal August 14, 2002 Obituary Nettie L. Cross Nettie Lucille Elliott Cross, 76, of Parkersburg went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002. She was born in Harrisville, the daughter of the late Sebert and Martha Sprouce Elliott. She was retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a nurse's aid and more recently, sold cosmetics with Avon. To carry on her memory, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Cross; daughters, Carolyn Alton, Sharolyn Pinkston, Mary Dailey, Martha Miller, Sarah Peck, Betty McDonald and Dicie Marie; last living brother, Lawerce Elliott of Parkersburg; one daughter and son-in-law Bessie Martin of Palestine and Larry Roberts of Belpre; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Garland Martin Jr., and daughter Polly Roberts. Services were held Thursday, Aug. 8, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Sister Sandra Peraldo officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memory Gardens.
