    3. I'm on the road in Kentucky, so I don't have access to my records, but just a quick note on the Cains. Delores you mentioned that Thomas Horner's father was Michael O'Cain, I have a feeling where you got that information, by your wording, "The History of Roane County", which is full of inaccuracies. Thomas Cain's father was Richard Cain, Richard came from Hunterdon County,New Jersey to Monongalia county,Virginia(WV) I'm not sure of the date I have it at home, Richard fought in the revolutionary war. I have Richard's will information from Monongalia county as well as affadavits that Thomas and Mary had to sign about three times from Monongalia county to Wood county around 1815. Richard's father was Walter, I have his Will from Hunterdon county,New Jersey. i just wanted to correct that information while I thought about. that history was a lot of hear say, in fact his favorite line was "it is said". He mentioned the Curfmans briefly and he said that two brothers James and Samuel came from Greenbrier county, when in fact they came with thier father Christopher "Michael" Curfman and mother, Rebecca Carman Curfman along with two other brothers Nathaniel who married Harriet ball and William who married Mary Ann and Elizabeth Cain's cousin, Caroline Cain, from Jefferson county,Ohio by Fredrick county,Maryland. Just wanted to make that correction. Thanks. [email protected] wrote: Disoway Cain who was the son of Thomas Horner Cain is my gggrandfather. My father was the son of John Andrew Cain.Thomas Cain was the father of Thomas Horner Cain and the father of Thomas Cain was Michael O'Cain. Thomas Cain built his cabin upon the high land just back of the Good Hope Baptist Church, he and his wife's bodies rest in the church cemetery near his original home, a log structure here was organized the first Baptist church in Roane county which is the present Good Hope Church. This man was a minister for this church until his death in 1841. His son, Thomas Horner Cain, was its minster for more than fifty years. Ann Cain married Samuel Curfman. Elizabeth Cain married James Curfman. I have some names of their children, but would like to share info. Hope this helps.
