Wirt Board Again Appeals Its Case Wirt County Board of Education again went to the WV Supreme Court Tuesday, asking that the Wirt County Court be compelled to recount the votes of the last December School Bond and Levy election prior to June 7 instead of the date set Monday by the Court for June 11. The controversy this time is because of the June 7 date on which the Assessor is to have tax books in the hands of the Sheriff. Assessor. Ken Amos will not put the extensions for the bond and levy on the books without direct order from higher officials to do so, and contends that he is acting legally. Jim Cheuvront Asks Recount Wirt County Court, meeting all day Monday, May 21, in regular session, set the date for a recount of the votes for the last Dec. School Bond and Levy Election for next June 11, pending receipt of the written opinion of the West Virginia Supreme Court on their ruling handed down last month. James A. Cheuvront, 25-vote loser in the Republican nomination for House of Delegates to former Delegate Raymond F. Morgan, gave bond before the Court in the amount of $300 for a recount of the votes. Court set June 19 for this recount.
