Fought and daughter, Miss Nellie of Newark, were in attendance at the club show here on Saturday. Ed Winland, local miller, has purchased the Bert Kester property on Washington St. and moved to it recently. J.M. Leep of Silver Run, was a prominent visitor at the 4-H club show here last Saturday. T.E. Cain of Parkersburg, prominent in the oil circle of Parkersburg and Burning Springs, was a business visitor in Elizabeth on Saturday of last week. G.E. Phillips, progressive farmer and fruit grower of Tucker Creek delivered some fine apples in town the first of this week. Jonah Sheppard, good farmer and citizen of the Windy Gap section of our county transacted business in town Saturday. M.B. Lynch, progressive farmer of near Dulin, was a business visitor in town on Saturday. Roy and Camden Coe returned last week from Akron, Ohio where the former has been employed in a rubber factor for some months. They report that the rubber works are all closing down. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Cling have returned to their home in McDowell County after a three week visit with Mrs. Cline's parents Rev. and Mrs. A.F. Monroe. We hope to have them with us in the near future as they have bought property in Parkersburg. Harley Robinson has traded his Washington Street residence in Elizabeth to Walter Hoffman for his farm at the head of Horse Run. This joins a farm which Mr. Robinson already owned and gives him one of the best grazing farms of our county consisting now of nearly five hundred acres. Mr. Hoffman now has another of our town's very best residences. Miss Edith Wilson and her uncle Arthur Elliott of Aurora, Ind, are visiting relatives in Wirt, Calhoun and Wood counties for a few days. Sept. 27, 1962 June's Beauty Shop In New Location June's Beauty Shop owned and operated by Mrs. June Marie Sheppard, which has been located in quarters at the T.R. and Zelma Simonton property, Pike St., will be moved this coming weekend to newly furnished quarters at the Sheppard residence on Washington St. Mrs. Sheppard has purchased her own new equipment and will operate the business at her hone starting next Tuesday, Oct. 2. Black Walnut Baking Contest Here Saturday A Black Walnut Baker Contest for Wirt County is to be held this Saturday, Sept. 29, in the office of County Agent Ira Kimble in the Court House. Entries must be in before 10 a.m. Fund Raising Dinner For Caretaker Cottage A dinner for benefit of constructing a caretakers cottage at Camp Barbe, sponsored by the Wirt County Farm Women's Council will be held at Camp Barbe on Saturday evening, Sept. 29. Serving for the chicken supper will start at 5 p.m. Price will be $1 for adults and .50 for children under 10. Bob Goff Sells Farm To His Nephew, Garry Bob Goff, Panama City, Fla., who was here with his wife because of the death of his father, M.E. Goff, last week, has sold his 78 acre farm on Two Ripple to his nephew, Garry Goff, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Goff. Garry and his wife and their daughter, Karen Ann, plan to move there soon.
