Am interested in info on Amos and Carrie Roberts, mentioned below in posting of April 7th. Wonder who the Mary is that "would be the d/o Amos and Carrie Roberts." Did she have a sister, Permelia Ann Roberts, who married George Maze? Alza Huffman mentions an Amos and (wife...Bambridge) Roberts in her book... " ...All of this happened near Morgantown, West Virginia, as my great-grandmother was born there. Her maiden name was Bambridge, and she married Amos Roberts who also lived near Morgantown. They came to Wirt County and took a land grant and were the parents of ten children. Most of them settled in Wirt County." If the Carrie Roberts mentioned below is my g-g-g-g-grandmother, then according to my great-aunt's book, she was born in 1782, ..."we really had a distinguised visitor in the year 1878 when my great-grandmother, aged ninety-six, rode ten miles on horseback over rough wilderness roads to visit us." Would like to hear from anyone researching this family. Emma Campbell ----- Original Message ----- From: M.
