Wirt County Journal October 13, 1999 Obituaries Maxine Francis Maxine Richards Francis, 46, of Mineral Wells, died Oct. 6 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late Wilbert and Juanita Lamp Richards. She is survived by her husband, Tim Francis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Jodi Francis of Elizabeth and Danny and Suzette Francis of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Tyler, Alexandra and Cole Francis; a twin sister, Ilene laws of Mineral Wells; and two brothers, Jack Richards of Parkersburg and Wilber Ridenhour of Dallison. Services were held Oct. 11 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Alfred Hall officiating. Burial was sin Sunset Memory Gardens. Herman Mosser Herman Mosser, 89, of Marietta died Oct. 4 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He is survived by one daughter, Sarah Albert of Newark; two grandchildren, John Albert and Susan Albert; one great-granddaughter, Sara Albert; and two sisters, Mary Hanley and Laura Beitler. Services were Oct. 7 at McClure-Schafer Funeral Home, Marietta Burial was in East Lawn Memorial Park. Charles Starcher Charles Starcher, 78, of Akron, Ohio, died Oct. 7 in Akron from a long illness. He was born in Newark, a son of the late Elliot and Icy Mae Stutler Starcher. He is survived by three sons, Ronnie, Charles and Mark Starcher of Akron; one daughter, Betty Brown of Akron; and one brother, Virgil Starcher of Waverly. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Harlan Starcher, seven sisters, Geneva Brannon, Eva Cross, Ora Wilson, Nora White, Evie Goff, Iva Boyles and Gladys Miller. Memorial services were held Oct. 9 at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with the Rev. David Morris officiating. Graveside service followed at Beulah Hill Cemetery. Festus Stevens Festus Stevens, 82, of Grantsville, died Oct. 3 at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Francis Kay and Lula Florence Starcher Stevens. He was retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years service and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Brooksville Missionary Baptist Church, Big Bend. He is survived by five brothers, Sheldon Stevens of Parkersburg, James Stevens of Summersville, Donald Stevens of Grantsville, Cleo Stevens of Clayton, Ala., and Samuel Stevens of Munday; three sisters, Retta Johnson and Geneva Wilson, both of Big Bend, and Rachel Smith of St. Marys; and several nieces and nephews. services were held Oct. 7 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with the Rev. Jerry Scott officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville.
