If I understand correctly, Jesse Lee's father was also Jesse Lee who married Hannah Darnell. My wife descends from Joshua Lee, brother of Jesse Jr. and Josiah. Do you know who the parents of Jesse Sr. were? I have found a claim that it was Richard Lee and Tabitha Andrews, but have found no proof. Thanks again for your help. It is greatly appreciated. Dick Eastman writes: "I have written a number of times about a genealogy-related scam that operates under a variety of names, including GenSeekers.com, GenealogyGiants.com and more. In the July 7 edition of the newsletter, I identified the owner/operator of this "business" as 21-year-old Elias Abodeely of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Since then, I have had conversations with several people in Iowa about this "business." I can now report that earlier today the Cedar Rapids police department arrested Elias Abodeely for his activities with GenSeekers.com and the other Web sites he operates. KWWL television in Iowa is now reporting that Cedar Rapids Police have made an arrest after a two year Internet crime investigation. The crimes involved genealogy websites. Today police arrested Elias Abodeely II of Cedar Rapids.. He faces four charges: 1st degree theft, identity theft, money laundering, and ongoing criminal conduct. Police say they expect to file charges against more suspects. Details are still developing. Keep an eye on the newsletter Discussion Board at http://www.eogn.com for updates. I will also be writing about this in the next newsletter. There were lots of vendors there, selling their WV related genealogy books and other items. There were several raffles, which was great fun. Hourly door prizes are given away, too, and the gifts are very nice. (I brought home quite a bit of the "loot" myself!) Genuine WV hotdogs and other food items were available, too. Whether you're looking for WV related reference books, good food or making contacts and meeting new cousins, and a fun-filled day, I guarantee you won't go away hungry! 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Williams, Gibson, Wyatt, Corbitt, Dobson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CFC.2ACI/945 Message Board Post: I'm trying the ‘broad brush' approach this time. I'm looking for any Williams families that had a child by the name of Joel that was born no earlier than 1790 and married no later than 1837 in Virginia (or what is now West Virginia). Joel was my GG Grandfather and I am attempting to find some reference to potential parents and/or siblings. The only records referencing Joel state he was born in Virginia. I suspect it may have been in the area of the current Jackson, Wirt and Wood Counties of West Virginia. Joel's wife was Mary Ann (unkn last name). Children of Joel & Mary Ann were: Abraham B. b. 1837 Mary Rebecca b. 1838 Susannah b.1839 Levina and Mariah b. 1844 (possibly twins or wrong date) Alphias b. 1847 Joel died in Jackson County (most probably now the portion that is now Wirt Co.) sometime between late 1846 and August 1847. Any information pertaining to a potential family for Joel would be greatly appreciated. Dick Williams
