Surnames: CURFMAN,CARMAN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CFC.2ACI/969 Message Board Post: Searching for the death date of Rebecca CARMAN CURFMAN(1796-1882), wife of Michael Christopher CURFMAN(1790-1882). She died between May 23, 1882, when she made application for widows pension for the War of 1812 and June 11, 1883, when application process was closed. Neither her or Michael, who died April 7, 1882, left official record of their death. Several years earlier they signed everything over to their son, James and wife, Elizabeth in return for taking care of them in their old age. More than likely they are buried on the CURFMAN farm or Good Hope Cemetery tombstones long gone if there were any.

In his later years he was living with his youngest son, William Eric CURFMAN on the CURFMAN farm, which was James and Michaels beforehand. More than likely he is buried in the Good Hope Cemetery where other CURFMANs are buried along with his wife, Elizabeth(no headstone).

    1. K of P Cemetery, Elizabeth
    2. I apologize for asking this question again, but it's been a while, and I've misplaced the info. Would someone give me the name/address of the caretaker for K of P Cemetery in Elizabeth, Wirt Co.? My gggrandmother died in 1918, and her daughter died shortly afterwards. I've looked in every surrounding county, but there are no death certificates. I know that my gggrandmother is buried at K of P, and am wondering if her daughter is there also. I also want to find out if the cemetery records might list the cause of death. Thank you, Maggie

    1. JASPER JOHNSON
    2. Hello, fellow listers! I'm looking for some help with JASPER JOHNSON, who is in the 1850 Wirt Co., WV census with his parents: 1850 Wirt Co.,WV Census Fielding JOHNSON 32 Farmer VA Nancy JOHNSON 27 VA Jasper Johnson 9 VA I cannot find Jasper Johnson anywhere in the 1860 WV census or in the 1870 Lewis Co.,WV census where his mother appears as a widow with three other children, Margaret (my great grandmother), Sally, and Amanda. Since I can't find Jasper after the 1850 census, I'm wondering if he could have died. Does anyone have access to cemetery or death records in either Wirt or Braxton county?? I'm including Braxton because Fielding and Nancy appear to have been married there in 1839 and Nancy married again there in 1864. She may also have been born there. Any help with this great great uncle will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks much!! Claudia Pell-Salvatore
