    2. Ann T. Berry
    3. Thelma and other WIRT listers: I came across the request below while combing WIRT list archives. I believe I have a Lockhart connection on the Phelps side of my Wood-Wirt line. But my problem is the other side, with my g g grandfather Dr. JAMES WILLIAM SHEPPEARD. We know he was born March 21 1822 in Wood, and married Lucinda PHELPS on Nov. 22 or 25 1843 at or near Parkersburg. But so far I cannot find his parentage. I know that SHEPPARDS/SHEPHERDS were numerous around Palestine and I have copious information on that line, but so far can't find anyone who could be his father. Any help would be very, very much appreciated. Ann Berry in NC To: WVWIRT-L@rootsweb.com Date: 23 Oct 2003 07:02:55 -0600 Subject: Re: Palestine WV family photos need home Please let me know the web address of the site on My Family where Wirt County, WV photos are. My husband's family dates back to the 1700's in Wirt County, WV. His g-g-g-grandparents were buried at the Bethesda Baptist Cemetery in Palestine, WV and their tombstones still stand. John Lockhart died in 1832 and his wife Christeny in 1836. I would like to see the pictures you speak of or any other lost pictures. Thelma Lockhart

    3. Note of caution to everyone. Beware of an e-mail that states it is a patch from Microsoft. I got it 4 times today and I very rarely get spam mail on my Alltel accounts. The address states its from security@microsoft.com, which its not, with an attachment named patch.exe As a rule I never open attachments eith a file extension .exe anyhow, because they are executable programs. Just a note of caution that its not a patch from Microsoft. Below is the following e-mail I got. Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now! There are dangerous virus in the Internet now! More than 500.000 already infected! Download Attachment: patch.exe Dan Whipkey "Read no history: nothing but biography, for that is life without theory."

    3. Thanks Cathy. A Michael Murphy contacted me some time ago. He was a descendent of Thomas Murphy and Elizabeth Curfman, through their son, Earl if I remember right. I gave him Elizabeths ancestory and info where her and her husband are buried. He was going to send me more on the Murphys, etc, but once I sent the file, as it usually goes, I never heard from him again. All I have on the the Murphys from Elizabeth on his the their 4 sons names, spouses and dates. No generations after that. I have Michael's e-mail if you want o contact him, maybe you can get info off of him from the Murphys on down. He said he had a picture of them as well. > > From: tigger3242000@yahoo.com > Date: 2004/01/23 Fri PM 11:20:38 EST > To: WVWIRT-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: Elizabeth Curfman Murphy > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CFC.2ACI/171.415.543.537.1 > > Message Board Post: > > I am related somehow to this Elizabeth Curfman. 3. Yes I do, been there several times, although all it is is a field next to rocks(Curfman Rocks). There is no buildings or anything left. Its between Falling Timber and Conrads Run, although the easiest way to get there is up Mayberry Run. 1. BOOHER family of Wirt Co, VA
    2. Jim and Pat Scofield
    3. Hi, Has anyone on the list researched the BOOHER Family of Wirt Co? My understanding of the John J. and Mary ( ) Booher family comes from the 1850 and 1860 censuses and the Wirt Co marriage records. The two censuses show Mary and the children in Wirt County. Mary (b abt 1812) has married a John B. Roberts (b abt 1819) by 1850 who appears to have died by 1860. The children of John J. and Mary Booher appear to be: Jonathan G b 1829, Lewis Co (W) VA married Hester Ann Cline, Wirt Co Juliann b 1831 George W, b 1834 , Wood Co (W) VA, 24 May 1860 married Martha E Monroe (b 1838, Hampshire Co), dau of William and Hannah Monroe Reuben b 1836 Mary b 1839, Wood Co (W) VA, 20 May 1860 married Asa A Monroe (b 1831, Hampshire Co), son of William and Hannah. John J/D b 1843 Charles S. b 1845, listed in Charles S. Roberts in 1850 census Margaret R b 1848, listed as Margaret J Roberts in 1850 census, Margaret R Booher in 1860. The censuses show a second John T/J Booher, a Jacob and a Charles. Jim Scofield

    1. FRAZIER FAMILY IN WIRT COUNTY
    2. Hello, fellow listers! I'm hoping someone has some information on the FRAZIER family in Wirt County. I have a JACOB FRAZIER who is found in the 1850 Wirt Co census who I think might have later married Nancy Wine Johnston/Johnson in Braxton Co, WV in December of 1864. This JACOB FRAZIER is found living with the Pickering family: 1850 WIRT CO.,VA CENSUS POST OFFICE: NEWARK Ancestry.com Online Image #75 of 98 LINE 15 500-500 THOMAS PICKERING 66 Male Ship Carpenter Born New Hampshire NANCY PICKERING 52 Female Born VA NELSON A.PICKERING 25 Male Potter Born New Hampshire HANNAH A/H PICKERING 18 Female Born New Hampshire MARCH PICKERING 16 Female Born VA JACOB FRAZIER 38 Male Laborer Born VA (Note: The Jacob Frazier in this census would have been born around 1822.) I could use some help to determine more about this Jacob and to find out if he is indeed the same JACOB FRAZIER who married Nancy. Can anyone shed some light on this???? Thanks in advance for any help! Claudia Pell-Salvatore
