    3. Thanks to Jim and everyone who wrote me about my cemetery inquiry! I got more response than I ever expected! And a special thanks to Floa Swisher who went way above the call and actually went to Newark to find the cemetery and get up-to-the-minute directions for my sister-in-law. It is so refreshing to find a group of people who are willing to give assistance. If anyone ever needs info on the Oregon/Washington area, please contact me so I can return the favor! 3. I checked with my source, they said: I think the cemetery she is looking for is the Pickering, it is located in the middle of Newark, right behind Russ Morrison's house. It has these Nutters: Delores, William, Bruce, George, Anne and maybe some others. The store in Newark, (Big house on the Elizabeth side), will be able to give you specific information. 2. Jim Scofield
    3. Donna, Did you ever get an answer on your Newark Cemetery inquiry. There is a "Fought Cemetery" in Newark, Wirt Co, West Virginia Recent obituaries including ones with services at the Newark Baptist Church (304) 275-8605 Elizabeth, WV show burials there. There is an Oak Hill about a mile south of Newark. The Wirt County web page lists a Oak Hill Cemetery. Perhaps this is the same as the Fought Cemetery. The funeral homes in Elizabeth have both handled burials at the Fought Cemetery and could tell of its exact location and any others in the area: Busch, Gregory - Busch Funeral Home (304) 275-3323 836 Washington St Elizabeth, WV Matheny, Judith L - Matheny-Pomeroy Funeral Home (304) 275-4229 446 Juliana St Elizabeth, WV Jim Scofield ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna Cagle Heck" <donnaheck1@comcast.net> To: <WVWIRT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 24, 2004 12:34 PM Subject: Looking for Newark Cemetery Has anyone heard of Newark Cemetery (or possibly Newark Baptist cemetery) in Wirt Co?
