Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CFC.2ACI/1000.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Some of my Boggs information is from -- Kenneth Blaine Boggs, "Boggs History," written between 1972 & 1974 - unpublished. I received information from Richard Williams regarding his Corbitt/Corbett line, but he did not wish for it to be shared, so I will respect his wishes. However, I believe the middle name is from him. Regarding the Wood vs. Jackson County -- since Jackson was formed in 1831 from Kanawha, Mason and Wood and the marriage post dates 1831, I believe you and Wes are correct. This is NOT my family line, and I have only gathered information because I have a Boggs line, and some of my relatives intermarried into the line. My Dad attended 'Corbitt School' in Wirt County the early 1900's .

As usual with genealogy it raises more questions. I also have one correction for you; Susan Boggs & David McGlothlin were married in Jackson county, not Wood county according to Wes Cochran's "Jackson Co.WV.Marriages 1831-1879". You have middle names for Susan Boggs and Bradford Corbitt which I've never seen before. Can you tell me the source for the middle names? Thank you, Marilyn

    2. For those who might be interested....... Adjacent to Allen Ball are Tho Ball and Isaac (or Isador) Ball.....same age group, could be brothers.....found them in Calvert Hundreds, MD 1810 census. Allen had his family plus one male over 45 and one female over 45 living with him.....Could be his parents or her parents (George & Mary Wiley....George from Shenandoah, VA). BUT.....what happened to Allen Ball? Didn't find him in War of 1812 and no death record but after the birth of his last child he can no longer be found and Ann Wiley Ball and six children take off in a wagon with all their earthly belongings and travel to Wood County, VA, where they settle. According to family bible (wish I knew who had it) they were in company of Steele and Bennett families. The mystery continues.......lol Any clues or help greatly appreciated!!! 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CFC.2ACI/1000 Message Board Post: Searching for descendants of my g-grandma's sister Lydia Jane McGlothlin who md. Bradford D. Corbitt in Wirt county on either 25 or 27 Mar 1858. I think he was a s/o George & Rebecca Corbitt. Lydia was a d/o David & Susan (Boggs) McGlolthin. I have census records for 1850-1920 from which I've gleaned the names of possibly 11 kids and 1 grandson, Charles Dewey Chevront. He may have been a s/o their daughter Delila. Bradford died in 1910 and Lydia died sometime after the 1920 census was taken. I didn't find her in the 1930 census. Any help with this family would be very much appreciated. M. Craft

    2. Donna Cagle Heck
    3. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the Koch line but I can tell you a little about Phoebe Trippett if this is the same person. The Phoebe Trippett I have was born about 1842 to parents Caleb Trippett (b. 1813) and Elizabeth Unknown (b. 1818). They were married 29 Jan 1867 in Wirt Co. 9 children are listed with Caleb and Elizabeth in the 1860 census for Dist #5, Monongalia, VA. They are: Phoebe, Mary Elinor, Matilda, Sarah A., Elihu, Lucy, Topliff, Martha J., and Alice. Caleb and Elizabeth are listed again in the 1880 census for Burning Springs Dist, Wirt Co, WV at ages 67 and 62 respectively. Also listed is a single daughter, Ellen, age 27. This name was not listed in the children on the 1860 census. That's about all I know about the family with the exception of Mary Elinor. My line is through her. If this was helpful and I can answer more questions, feel free to contact me.
