hello, Just signed on to Webster Co roots, as have found that my GGGGF Alfred SLUSHER was born in 1807 in a place called "Kingfisher, Va". After much searching have found the only Kingfisher ref within WV or Va to be the "Kingfisher schoolhouse" outside Webster Springs. This being said: 1. What is the source of the Schoolhouse's name? Does it pre-date the forming of Webster County? 2. Was there a "place" called "Kingfisher" on the land that is now Webster County? 3. What was the land that Webster County is now on called in 1807? My GGGGF is only known to be "Va born" in 1807! He was "first found" in the 1850 census in Hardy Co, Va-Wa, married w/children! Any info re a place called "Kingfisher" and surely any info on early 1800 SLUSHERs or SCHLOSSERs in the "area" would be very much appreciated. His father's (my GGGGGF) was John (Johann) George SLUSHER-SCHLOSSER! Many Many Thanks, Otis in Florida
