Funeral homes listed in this directory include: Adams Funeral Home, Rt. 20 Cowen. Telephone Number 226-3000 Dodd & Reed Funeral Home Inc. , 155 McGraw Av, Webster Springs. Telephone # 847-2454 Morris Funeral Home, Railroad Av. Cowen. Telephone # 226-5000. I was living in Cowen when the Adams Funeral Home was established. If I remember correctly, it went into business in 1970. Joe Adams (who is now deceased) took over the Funeral Home business of another undertaker who went out of business. I think this previous Funeral Home was named Combs Funeral Home or some similar name. It was established in the mid-1960's but was only in business a few years. I don't know if the Adams Funeral Home has the records of the previous Funeral Home or not. Dodd & Reed Funeral Home was formerly named Dodd & Hurt Funeral Home. It has been in business for years. For many years, it was the only funeral home in Webster County. I don't know when it was established, but do know that it was in business in 1947 when it handled the funeral of one of my uncles. I don't know anything about the Morris Funeral Home. Didn't even know it existed until I saw it listed in the phone directory. I have never heard of a funeral home at Dyer. Dyer isn't all that far from Cowen. Roger
