    3. Message text written by INTERNET:[email protected] >Is there anyone out there researching the surname PAYNE? Please contact me. bj < When I was growing up in Webster County, back in the sixies, I remember that one of the local newspapers (The Webster Republican) would sometimes publish family histories. Most of these family histories were written by Sampson Miller (great-uncle of Ron Hardway). They were printed under the title of "Pioneer Settlers of Webster County." During my last week of my vacation in October, I went to the Colson Hall Library, located on the West Virginia University Campus at Morgantown, WV. The library has an excellent microfirm collection of records, including many newspapers. I copied a few of the "Pioneer Settlers of Webster County" articles. They are the ones on the Payne, Weese, Conrad, McCray, Bruffy, Goff and Dyer families. I want to snail mail the article on the Payne family to you and any of the other familes that you might be interest in. Is you snail mail address still: Billie Jo Hillier PSC 94 Box 666 APO AE 09824 By the way, I am related to the Weese and McCray families. There is a family connection to the Dyers by marriage. I remembered your query on the Payne family and I think someone had a query on the Bruffy family (but I might be mistaken). By the way, the Webster County families I am working on are the Weese, Johns, and Giles families. I have been intending to contact you concerning the families I am working on and send you the Payne article since October. However, I have been busy with my job, working mostly six days a week since October. Also, I have some more cemetery records which I will send you. Roger Stanley
