Walter Shinn, Justice-elect, severely sprained his ankle the other day....Enoch Cutlip, of Diana, passed here last Saturday en route for Little Birch, Braxton county....Messes. Wilson, cattle merchants, were here this week ....The sick are improving, though Mrs. Amon Rollins is quite low at present....George Goad, Sheriff-elect of Braxton, is here looking after his business interests ....The Erbacon school, under the management of Miss hamrick, is progressing nicely....W.S.P. Carper, drummer, was interviewing our merchants Tuesday....Rev. McClung, of Gilmer county, will preach a series of sermons here, beginning on the night of the 26th November....Rev. J. C. H. Cogar preached an interesting sermon here last Sunday....Why not organize a Literary Society here....A protracted meeting is, we understand, announced for here, beginning on Second Sunday of December....Times will now be better (for imperialism, militarism, polygamy, trusts, monopolies bankers, and bond holders) from now on. Let Democrats note the times, and keep the people in mind of all things. RATTLER.
