From: The Webster Echo, April 27, 1922. Page 4. Wainville Miss Edra Weese is still very ill. We hope for her early recovery. Aunt Elizabeth Morton visited relavies here last Friday. She was on her way to Webster Springs to take charge of the Valley House. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Irvin, of Curtin, are visiting here for a few days. Fletcher Workman, of Nicholas county, visited relatives here Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. J. W. Green, of Curtin, was a business visitor here a day or two last week. The president of the Protestant church delivered two fire sermons here Sunday. Mrs. John Green visited her sister, Mrs. Clark Cogar, at Cowen, one day last week. She says her sister is very ill. Mrs. Chas. Nichols returned home last Tuesday from a week's visit at Charleston, Mammoth, Dundon and Sutton. She was accompanied by her grand-daughters Anna and Catherine Morton. There was a pie supper at Lost Run Saturday night of the 15th. The proceeds went to Brother Harsh. Dr. Gruber, of Erbacon, was seen on our streets Monday. Miss Dale McElwain returned home Friday from Sutton, where she had been visiting relatives the past week. Lum Echols was calling on our merchants Monday. Mrs. Arch Hill visited her daughter, Mrs. J. T. Been, recently. She was accommpanied home by her grand-son, Master Paul Been. W. P. Weese, who has been working at Gauley Mills, spent Sunday at home. J. M. Weese, Fred Bennett and Hugh McCompton, who have been working in the mines at this place, have been loafing the week. We presume they struck for higher wages.
