    3. From: The Webster Echo; July 27, 1900. HARDWOOD. Corn in this section looks well .....J. H. Tyler and C. A. Sandy have bought a team of fine horses of Bird Paugh, and will go to logging....S. L. Mason, candidate for Justice of the Peace, passed through our town last Friday.....Uncle Billy Morris went to Cowen on Business last Saturday....G. R. Tyler contemplates buying a fine mare of S. L. Mason....John Norman, of Beaver Creek, is visiting friends at Hardwood....A special dance was given at John Tyler's Friday night, and the boys report a general blowout....We have a prosperout little town; preaching two or three times a year, with an occasional dance....
