Willard E. Caynor, 81, passed away Monday, June 5, 2000. He was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Bablin, W. Va. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 6th Armored Division of the Pacific Theater, and was decorated with the Bronze Star. He was a resident of Norton for 45 years, and retired from Lectromelt Co. in Barberton as a molder. Preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Eula; infant sister, Mable; brother-in-law, Russell Carpenter; and sister-in-law, Virginia, he is survived by the mother of his children, Carole Caynor; children, Anita (Richard) Haney of Barberton, Wayne Caynor of Norton, Charles Caynor of Rittman, Phyllis Caynor of Barberton, Paul (Martha) Caynor of Rittman, and Regina Caynor of Barberton; grandchildren, Ricky and Elbert Haney, Chrissy Kimber, Ezra, Tabitha, Sasha and Ashley Caynor; great-grandchildren, Timmy Haney and Jordan Kimber; and brothers, William Caynor of Norton, Earl (Helen) Caynor of Barberton; sisters, Opal Carpenter of Fairfax, Va., Freda (Hanley) Rexroad of Duffy, W. Collette Thorn After a courageous battle with cancer, Ella Grace ``Petie'' Thorn died peacefully at her home in Sun City, Ariz., on June 3, 2000. Born September 7, 1918, in Elkins, W. Va., she attended Davis & Elkins College, moved to Ohio, and married Averille Thorn. She was a mother, teacher, secretary, and realtor until she and ``Ave'' retired and moved to Arizona. She became an active member of Willowbrook United Methodist Church and volunteered with the Red Cross at Luke Air Force Base for 15 years. She is survived by her children, Donna McClintock of Greentown, Ohio, Jeffrey Thorn of Worthington, Ohio, and Debbie Frame of Renton, Wash.; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Willowbrook United Methodist Church.
